Rocky Mountain King

This bighorn sheep defends his mating rights with pushing, head-clashing, and horn-twisting, allowing only small and immature rams to graze in his proximity. The horns of these male sheep were prized by both the Crow and Shoshone Indians to make hunting bows. Contemplating the bright eyes and warm colors of this dominate male give insight into the Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep. These wild sheep of North America, unlike their European counterparts, have never been domesticated, and remain wild kings of the Rocky Mountains.
